Late May, June
Nothing is ever guaranteed. But in June in the valleys of the Canadian Rockies is the best time to see bears.
After a winter of hibernating, the bears come down from the mountainsides to gorge themselves on dandelions that grow in the millions beside the highways and byways of the Rockies.
With private touring, you get the flexibility to stop when there's a bear beside the road. So if you want to see bears or any wildlife, for that matter, leaving early in the day with a guide who knows where to find the sometimes ellusive creatures is real bonus.
